SDAV's state-of-the-art digital projection system is one of a kind. First, one of our trained operators will inspect, clean and prepare your film, checking to make sure if any of the tape or splices need to be repaired. With our custom engineered system, we then directly capture your film through a built-in broadcast grade, 3-CCD camera. Your footage is projected directly through the lens of that camera. This produces the highest resolution possible of your footage, each frame, one frame at a time. While transferring, we will monitor your footage and can adjust color/brightness where needed.

8MM to DVD transfer San Diego

DVD
Once captured into our system we can burn a high quality DVD master for you that is viewable on DVD players and computers. A DVD can hold up to two hours of footage.

Hard Drive
Perhaps you would like to do your own editing with the footage. We can prepare data files formatted per your request and load them on to an external hard drive. From there you can edit or burn your own DVD masters. (Quicktime, avi, wmv, mpeg, mov)

Mini DV
Another option is to transfer the material directly to a digital tape of your choice like a Mini DV or DVCAM tape. A digital video tape preserves the high quality footage even better than a standard viewing DVD. We can provide from a variety of Sony and Panasonic Mini DV tapes.

We highly suggest making a Mini DV tape copy for your records. A Mini DV tape holds 2.5x more information than a DVD and is less susceptible to damage and wear over a long period of time. The Mini DV would serve as your digital master that you can archive, store as a back up, and use for editing in the future. Your memories are priceless, it's always a good idea to have a back up digital master.

Keep in mind once your film is all captured, we can edit your footage, add music, titles, a menu, and make a custom video for your viewing pleasure. It's a great idea especially when gathering with friends and family to watch together.
